Light switch/Dimmer/Curtain/Scenes over TCP/IP integration

Dear Home Assistant Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am a passionate Home Assistant user and appreciate the fantastic work that has gone into making it a versatile smart home platform.

I would like to request the addition of native support for TCP/IP integration for the following devices:

  1. Switches(On-Off)
  2. Dimmers
  3. Curtains
  4. Fan
  5. Scenes

Why TCP/IP Integration:
Many smart home devices communicate over TCP/IP, and having native support in Home Assistant would greatly enhance the platform’s compatibility with a broader range of devices.

Key Features to Include:

  • Support for standard TCP/IP protocols used by these devices.
  • Seamless integration into the Home Assistant UI for easy configuration and control.
  • Ability to customize and automate actions based on the status of these devices.

Potential Benefits:

  • Increased flexibility for users with devices that rely on TCP/IP communication.
  • A more comprehensive and unified smart home experience within Home Assistant.
  • Empowerment for users to create complex automation scenarios with these devices.

I understand that the Home Assistant team has many priorities, but I believe that adding TCP/IP integration for these devices would significantly contribute to the platform’s overall functionality and user satisfaction.

Is there a standard or do they all use their own individually developed APIs?

Each manufacturer designs a proprietary API (Command Set) utilizing the TCP/IP protocol to cater to its unique requirements and functionalities.

So let me get this straight, you want the dev team to implement every TCP/IP based API in existence?

Closing as unpossible.

Please be more specific and realistic in future.
