I can’t say for sure these things are correlated, but I did an OTA update of my Zen76 zooz light switch today and now the light is turning itself off automatically after a period of time.
I’ve searched for automations related to the switch and I have none.
When I look at the history for the entity it shows it’s not turning off at all. For instance right now the light is physically off, but HA thinks it’s on.
Any idea where to start with troubleshooting? I restarted HA already…
I don’t have that light switch, but stayed here hoping to help. Upon searching up your device online, I found the product page for the ZEN76 S2 (here)…on the page it states there is an “Auto Turn-Off Timer” parameter that can be set. Because I don’t own the switch, I can’t guide you any further, but delve into the settings of it either on HA side or within the app to see if the OTA update maybe reset this parameter.
Interesting suggestion but, in my case, that is not the issue.
For several weeks various automations with Zwave devices going OFF were running spontaneously. I just checked if the auto-off could be the issue, but at least not for me.
Hi. On a similar theme as @MikeScottCAD , does your Zen76 zooz light switch have a “Restart mode after Power Failure” setting, and might that be set to Restart at Off? Perhaps the switch has/thinks it had seen a power drop-out… Just a thought.
The settings do indeed have an auto-off timer, and after updating the firmware it had set itself to 20 minutes. This wasn’t the case before the firmware update (I think), so may be an indicator of unexpected behavior from the firmware change.
However, the light is changing off closer to 60 seconds, so it is not related to this auto-off feature, which was set to 20 minutes.
I think what’s more indicative of the problem is the fact that if I manually turn off the light, the status doesn’t get updated in HA. So there’s a reporting / communication problem with the device.
I’ve just updated zwave JS but it doens’t seem to have helped.
