Lightswitches perpetually on and electric cost when using scene switch?

dumb question maybe; I guess the title says it all. If i put like a spacer on top of my old analog light switches and put a scene switch on top, which would turn the lights off, is that the same as breaking the circuit where you flip the switch ?

No. Smart lights always use a small amount of electricity to keep the connection (‘the smart’), typically 0,5W to 1.0 W.
