Hi all,
I am looking for a way to completely limit access to home assistant for exclusively my iPhone and my Mac, outside my home of course.
I currently have my own domain and cloud flare add on.
Already looked into cloud flare zero trust but it doesn´t seem to do what I want.
Any pointing direction would be much appreciated.
You can select local access only for every account.
Is that what you are trying to achieve?
Thank you for answering. I want to be able to access HA from cellular, anywhere in the world but I would like to make it as secure as possible. What I want is to have only my iPhone or Mac to access it, restrict any other device. I do not know if it is possible with Cloudflare or tailscape or something else…
Any SDN/VPN like tailsale does this because only the devices you give the VPN client get access.
Just make sure your fqdn is only accessible internally but available on the VPN. Then, VPN on. Have access. VPN off no access.
Yes either do what Nathan wrote or you also do what I do and use Home Assistant Cloud and create a second account for remote access, which has the option local access only turned off and then you can also configure other things like different dashboards or non admin for that one.
Maybe that also works with cloudflare but I dont use that and you can only try that yourself.
Thanks, do you know of a tutorial to use tailscape like that?
