I’m having issues linking my Smart Life Account with Tuya. I get to the part where I scan the QR CODE, I confirm from my phone (actually giving me the name of the device in Chinese). Then I get a popup in Tuya that asks for permissions. Then it tells me there are 0 devices added and nothing shows in the list.
If I try to do this again, it tells me I can’t because a device is already linked to my smart life app. There is NOWHERE in Smart Life or Tuya that I can unlink my account and Tuya insists it is already registered by not showing in the list.
Yeah, North America. Or is it possible I missed a place? What really gets me is that it seems to have done something but it just doesn’t display it, the reason I know is if I try to register again, it tells me I need to unlink first. So to me it seems like a bug on Tuya’s side. Hope someone has a solution.
I changed to every regions available, link to smart life is not displayed at all. Also looked everywhere in the Smart Life app, there is no evidence of linkage to Tuya I could cancel anywhere.
I also noticed I can’t delete cloud projects in Tuya. I created a second one hoping it was a glitch and now my device has been linked twice (which is the limit apparently). In any case, not being able to delete a project is a huge concern. This new integration with Tuya should have been tested more before it was released, on top of being way less user friendly than the previous version.
Hopefully someone has a solution to my linkage of Smart Life to Tuya not showing up.
@burrellka
I contacted TUYA support the other day and found the issue. I was using the Eastern US Data Center. They are not supported the Eastern US Data Center very well and that comes directly from a Tuya Support Engineer. The only one that works is the Western US Data Center. I repeated the entire process of registering my Smartlife app account with the Western US Data Center selected from my cloud project (ONLY WESTERN US nothing else) and it worked.
funny enough after fighting with this for days and posting above. i just figured it out and did the same as above. Try changing your data center and trying again. I was able to switch to the western us data center and it works like you said!
This will be a big help for anyone else on the inet searching for this
