List of wake word solutions

as a part of the community of disabled people I’m trying to find solutions to control devices ONLY with voice, because for lots of people it’s not possible to activate the assist by clicking/tapping buttons and then say the voice command.

home assistant is changing every day and achieving new ways to do stuff. please help me make a list of possible ways

  1. Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition
  2. Android phone (activate hotwords using tasker or termux)
  3. making a diy HA PE using esp32 s3

are there any simpler ways?

and sorry if I posted this in a wrong category

Are you including the likes of google assistant and Alexa. These are still the most reliable way of doing voice. Although the home assistant stuff is improving everyday and has already replaced google in my home.

I’m very new to the world of home assistant and I didn’t even know you could combine HA with google assistant , actually right now all of my home control /automation are working with google assistant. but it’s good to be able controlling devices offline

I’m looking for solutions for few days and maybe I was in a realm of “google free” :grinning:

please guide me what I should search to combine HA with google assistant, is it an add-on or something?
I should mention for my first home assistant project I made a fan useing esphome combining with a usb desk fan controlled by esp8266 and it’s not in my google home devices AND I can’t pay for nabu casa

To clarify… Are you looking for a list of wake word solutions (as in the title of your post) or for a list of voice assistant solutions? Sounds like the latter.

A quick search came up with this (I expect there are more):

Some of these have several wake word options and most of them come with a selection of voices. In addition you can combine some of them with third party voices. It’s quite complicated.

Home Assistant Voice
Rhasspy
Willow

Edit: I have to agree with @Arh - for a serious application it’s probably better to stick with Amazon/Google/Apple. All three are heavily subsidised, so much better value for money in terms of performance, and all three are pretty stable, whereas HA changes every month.

sorry if I chose a misleading title
generally I’m looking for something like google assistant but in home assistant realm to beable to control my devices even when I’m offline

I’m using google assistant right now but for devices which I made by esphome, I don’t know how to control them via google assistant. considering I can’t buy nabu casa

Alexa and google control is cloud based. HA can be local but Alexa/google home will require access to their respective cloud provider

100% local requires open source solution such as esphome or other custom solution
