LMS/Squeezebox Integration - Search by 'Album Artist' instead of 'Artist'

Using the LMS Integration to control audio, currently you can only search by 'Album, ‘Genre’, ‘Artist’. etc. There is no option to search by ‘Album Artist’. Generally, there are multiple ‘Artists’ per song/album, but only one ‘Album Artist’ per song/album, making the ‘Album Artist’ much better to search by. Is there a way to modify the config to allow this, or can it be added to the integration? Thanks

I have LMS stand alone but Album Artist is under server settings->behaviour-> browse artist

Cheers Julian. My music is tagged with ‘Album Artist’ and ‘Artist’, with ‘Artist’ being any contributing artists to the song. I have the LMS server set to 2 separate lists as you have shown, and can browse fine via the LMS server. I would like to use the native Lyrion/Squeezebox integration in Home Assistant to browse via ‘Album Artist’, but it only gives the option to browse via ‘Artist’ (which equates to ‘All Artists’ on the LMS server). This results in a large list that is not all that useful. I thought there may be a way I could modify one of the integration config files locally before manually adding to my HA?

That view doesn’t look like LMS. It looks more like the HA media folder?

Since my LMS is run outside of HA I use an Webpage Card to natively integrate my LMS into HA as a dashboard. I am running LMS 9.1 which can introduced a lot of additional tagging for say classical music etc and I also consolidate my Tidal and Spotify into my Library view. All of that means that the native media folder in HA can pick up my LMS music library but none of the additional tagging and library capability that is built into LMS. I am not sure I would ever browse my library other than natively.

Yes my screenshot is from the HA LMS integration for the player. I think I will do what you have done and integrate the server into a dashboard, seems the way to go. Thanks for your help!

This isn’t something you can add - we need to add this to the media browser. It should be pretty straight forwards, but we’ve got rather a lot of PRs waiting for approval at the moment, so I don’t want to try and introduce anything else until we’ve got this lot approved tbh.

Best thing to do would be to raise it as an issue on the squeezebox integration - then we won’t loose track of it.

Thanks Peter, I will do that. Where exactly can I raise this as an issue?

Go to the squeezebox integration under settings and select Known Issues - that’ll take you to the github issues page and you can log a new one.

Thanks Peter, have done that now.

Cheers, Sam.
