are any of you aware of dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, perhaps microwaves, that can be integrated via some sort of local API?
AFAIK, thinq (LG), siemens and bosch have some smart appliances, but they all communicate via the vendors’ clouds. While I don’t expect these companies to disappear all the sudden (= I would expect those APIs to work in the foreseeable future), I always prefer local solutions.
Is there some brand that does this?
I am currently monitoring my dumb washing machine via energy sensor, so I’ll know when it is (supposedly) done washing; but I just stumbled upon a thinq washer that allows you to display the wash ETA in Home Assistant. That’s pretty cool. But I just don’t want to rely on any cloud if I don’t have to.
So yeah, any suggestions? Do you own such devices, if so, which ones - and are you happy with how they integrate in Home Assistant?
thanks for those links! it works fine for me with my bosch dishwasher. I’m happy, because I contacted them a few years ago asking for the local API documentation, but they told they don’t want to publish it because of security reasons. I don’t really understand what could be more secure than not communicating over the internet…
whats your problem with running the downloader? it was working for me on my linux desktop without any problems. as I saw there’s a 3 week old release and according to the date of your comment you tried it before that. try with the new one and if it doesn’t work, I’ll try to help you
