Localtuya and firewall

Hi to all, I successfully installed some smartplugs (Teckin SP22) with localtuya. All is working as expected. Now I tried to remove internet access to the smartplugs, via a simple firewall rule. As soon as the plugs did not get access to internet I loose the Watt and Voltage readings in homeassistant. I can switch them on and off in any case.
Is it “by design” or can I do something?

Any info is appreciated.

Probably best asked to the manufacturers of your plugs.

I’m pretty sure the integration just reports what is available and surely do not need internet access.
Tuya, otoh, is 100% cloud based, so it wouldn’t surprise me that the plug doesn’t bother with the energy side if it cannot report it to the cloud.

EDIT: Or just a plain bug in the plug fiirmware in the case of unavailable cloud connection.

Thanks for the quick response! I’m supposing that the smartplugs have some issues when not connected to the cloud too.
