Occasionally when attempting to login to the HA Web UI, I get presented with the “Start Over” button after submitting my credentials. This happens for other users in my HA environment as well. This is clearly different than the “Invalid username or password” message and I am using a password manager so the credentials are correct. Its possible this is related to the bitwarden autofill functionality on the Bitwarden Extension. What steps can I take to troubleshoot?
It’s possible that this is related to my reverse proxy Traefik and not bitwarden. I was just stuck on this for a while trying to log in. Attempted in multiple browsers on the same Mac device, able to login through the reverse proxy URL on firefox & Safari but not Chrome. Was able to login to chrome immediately when using the local internal IP address. Also, this would explain why it is happening across two different HA installs in two different environments since I use traefik in both instances. Any troubleshooting advice is appreciated.
Did you manage to solve the issue? I have the same problem with Cloudflare + Nginx Proxy Manager
I have not, this still occasionally occurs for me and the users that I have across both HA environments. I have not been able to track down any specific log entry or GH issue related to this.
So far I seem to be able to overcome it (on a windows computer) by forcing a refresh using ctrl+F5. On a smartphone it’s more difficult.
I am also having this issue after just setting up my Nginx proxy manager.
For nginx, edit the proxy host and under details, enable websockets support.
That is already enabled. I am having the same issue after restoring from backup.
I’m noticing that this issue seems to happen more/reliably on Mac Chromium browser and not Mac Firefox. Not sure why, very annoying.
Just ran into this same issue, also behind Traefik. It’s possible it’s always like this, I usually use Firefox as my browser. Tried to log in using Chrome today from a computer where FF isn’t available, and couldn’t get past the Start Over page.
Anyone ever have any luck?
I recently had this same issue with signing into the iOS app. Multiple app closures and clicking start over and reentering the credentials (thank god for password managers) and eventually it works. Not sure what the issue is but it’s more than just chrome browsers ![]()
