Logitech Harmony Home Hub Extender (ZigBee and Z-Wave ) support?

Hi all,
I know that Harmony zWave extender hub is NOT listed as a z-wave hub supported.

https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Harmony-Extender-Control-Automation/dp/B00TA4HV7M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494131531&sr=8-1&keywords=harmony+extender+hub

My question are:

  • Is anybody working on making it supported?

  • What does it typically take to make a z-wave hub supported? (If it supports Z-wave protocol), what exactly is missing to be able to use such component in Home Assistant?

  • Are there samples of code of what needs to be done to integrate a new controller? (Maybe I can start taking a look at it)

This device connects to the Harmony Hub, my guess is that the current Harmony component already supports this since it only exposes more devices inside of the hub.
