This may not exist in a single device so while I don’t want to get too complex, open to multiple device ideas.
I have a driveway alarm with an output per zone (4 zones, 2 utilized).
The 2 zones I am using are tied to a Zooz Zen17 relay. Not using the relay portion (but can) but the inputs are setup as Motion Sensors.
Sequence:
- Motion detected
- Driveway alarm unit sounds an alarm using the built-in speaker. Different chime per zone.
- Relay input is triggered and HA does its thing with the detected motion
What I would like is to eliminate the Driveway alarm speaker (turn that volume all the way down) in order to make it possible to turn the sound off or on. For example when on a work call (the unit is close by my desk) or when mowing the yard and crossing that part of the driveway often so wife/kids get tired of the alarm in the house.
What I am looking for:
- An alarm that has multiple inputs in order to generate sounds and that feature works without HA involvement. I don’t want the dependency or time delay of HA.
- The ability to silence the alarm using HA
As a current solution I have the alarm unit plugged into a smart plug and this works but whenever turning it back on, it triggers all sounds and zones. I don’t know why the unit does this at startup but it does.
If a 120v dumb alarm like this exists I could plug it into the smart plug and it would serve the purpose.
I could also tie an alarm to each relay output but I don’t believe I can have HA disable the relay if the input is satisfied.
