Looking for a miniature motion sensor for a sock

I know it’s a weird thing. I have a dog that is bell trained (he nudges a sock with a bell inside when he wants to go out). The issue is, depending on the portion of the house I’m in, and whether I’m listening to music, I may not hear the bell, so I figured might as well plug into my home automation.

Does anyone know of a motion sensor or other sensor that is battery powered and fits in a sock, which could connect wirelessly to zigbee or otherwise? All the searches I’ve done show IC chips that would require circuit design and other things.

You could try a vibration sensor like this one. I use one for automations and they’re small and reliable.

On the cheap end, rf433 vibration sensors cost 3EUR…but you need a rf433 stick so that may become more costly if you donot have one. The only downside is that it is fire and forget, they have no state to pull but that is ‘easy’ with a templ. sensor and automation: if signal, do something and then set sensor to off

Depending on how firmly they nudge it, the Aqara Cube may be an option. You’ll get updates from it when it is rolled over, or slid firmly enough.

Thanks - I am giving this a try - My biggest worry is that even with the highest sensitivity, it might not detect the jingle. I’ll report back once I get some test results though.
