Hi all
Dabbling my toes in OpenAI conversation to just get some funny responses back to usual stuff. I would love to have a stuck up british butler type voice but all I’ve seen are normal with slight accents. I was wondering if there was any weird and wonderful ways of altering voices. I’m sure someone out there has made a custom Jarvis type sounding one.
Thanks
Alan
Edit: Sorry, should have said I’m using google ecosystem, specifically with tts.could_say, but happy to try anything as long as it’s not too complicated.
Sounds like a fun project! I don’t have an answer for you, but you made me remember back in the day when I had a TomTom GPS, I uploaded Ozzy Osbournes voice to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdKGhdwyFY8 (not my video).
Hahaha… I did the exact same thing with my Tomtom
I use “Brian” from Amazon Polly. Sounds like an elderly butler who has been at the sherry.
That sounds awesome but not sure if I can use off the google ecosystem. I’ll have to investigate when I get time.
Worst case I buy a cheap amazon device on their next sale.
Thanks
There is a HA integration, although still yaml:
tts:
- platform: amazon_polly
aws_access_key_id: !secret aws_id
aws_secret_access_key: !secret aws_secret
voice: Brian
You have to register to get the access key, but the first year is free. Once set up it appears as one of the options in Assist.

Great, thanks for pointing me there. I’ll have a look at that
