I am looking to put some RGB landscape and hardscape lighting in this year and contractor that is doing some work for us mentioned Tru-Scape brand for our patio wall. In looking at this product, they seem to use Bluetooth for connectivity and then are controlled by an app installed on the phone. I am currently using some ESP32 devices for Bluetooth proxies and they work well, however I am wondering if there is a way to do the same for these lights. Seems each light has its own transceiver. Here is the product I am talking about: https://shop.tru-scapes.com/item/Hardscape%20Lights/6606ef02dc3f638812402d2b
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Wondering if you ever made any efforts to integrate Tru-Scape lighting? I am trying to decide which hardscape lights to go with. Broader question, how is the app control? Reviews look questionable.
I was able to find that the lights were Tuya based so I bought a Tuya Bluetooth hub and control them with it. It works pretty well and I have the Tuya Local integration so I don’t need to give the hub internet access. The Truescape app was an identical template of the Tuya app so I think Tuya has a developer program that allows companies to develop their app based on Tuya. All in all he Tuya local integration workds pretty well. There is a slight delay when changing colors but not bad at all.
Hi. New to Home Assistant. I have the same issue with a Tru-Scapes landscape lighting system (full RGB). It works well-ish with their app but some lights stop responding at the edge of the bluetooth signal. I have the wireless transformer which I will be locating to optimize the bluetooth range. After reading this tread I think I need to do something like your solution, however you have more knowledge about it. Are you saying I can use the Tuya bluetooth Smart Hub to directly control the lights without using the True-Scapes apps? Also, is this configuration Voice Assistant friendly? I’m learning the ins and outs of HA which is awesome! Any help is welcomed. BTW, intrigued by the ESP32 bluetooth configuration.
Basically you install the hub and use the Tuya app to connect the lights to the hub then install the Tuya integration and each light will create an entity that can be controlled. I then created a light group in HA and control them that way. Here is a video that explains the process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_8uypFHKTs&t=2s
