Looking for advice on a touchscreen dashboard

I’m new to Home Assistant and this is my first post here.

I’ve managed to create a family calendar dashboard a chore system and a shopping list integration along side the calendar. My wife is happy with how it all looks on my laptop, so now i’m hoping i’m close to convincing her we dont need to buy a skylight, nowi need to get it on the wall.

What touchscreen hardware is best for this? I dont really want to spend a small fortune, but i also dont really want to use a tablet and have to worry about managing the battery.

I was thinking of buying a Wyse dell 3040 for £25 and installing a light O/S on it, and then hooking it up to something like this UPERFECT 15.6" Portable Monitor Touchscreen, 10-Point 1080P FHD IPS Portable Screen w/VESA/Smart Cover, Eye Care USB-C Mini HDMI Travel Screen for Laptop/Game Consoles/Phone/Tablet : Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories . There seems to be alot of cheap touchscreen monitors on amazon, and i was wondering if anyone on here has tried them or has any other tips to offer.

Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated.

Most tablets will easily manage the battery, within the settings menu, or an app. It will also be far easier to setup, especially if you want a wall display..

Beside above, that monitor seems to go for +1-200£, so all in all, about the same budget, if you don’t find a cheap Tablet, for less than half price

Planning to go the RaspberryPi and TouchKio route myself. My concerns with using tablet were around power usage and battery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTxURzmrVtA

Instead of linking to those d… youtubes, why don’t you just Specs. your devices, and the individual + total power consumption.
then the Youtube Url, could be just for those who love spending usage and time, to go through everything, and thus still ending up with no answers to which devices/specs you are using/planning to use

Just as an example:
Average power consumption PI ( with Touchkio ) 5W
Average power consumption " light-Monitor" 10w
Total 15w
OR
Average power consumption Tablet 10W
Total 10W ( Battery Backup Included  )
