Looking for best dimmer modules for HA

HI, I’ve looked through the community, but can really find definitive reviews on in wall dimmer modules and also if you need bell press or momentary ‘click’ switches.

Looking for recommendations foe the in wall dimmer modules, preferably Zigbee, but maybe Zwave too (I’ll need to add a zwave controller to my HA).

many thanks
Mark.

You are unlikely to find any. There are too many choices, and you will find people on these forums using every one of them.

I will tell you what I use: I have two dimmable LED bulbs on Z-Wave wall switches. I can’t tell you about any other option because this is all I use for my dimmable lights. BTW, I do NOT use smart bulbs. Unless you NEED color control, using smart bulbs is unwise.

I’m in Australia

Thanks Stevemann, yep way too many options, want to see what options are working for people.
I’d like to have normal, Clipsal saturn or zen switches, that can be controlled by smart modules and HA

I have put Fibaro zwave dimmers in my home in Melbourne.

The dimmers work fine but the Clipsal push button mechs (30pbbpl/30pbbp momentary and 30pbl non-momentary) are awful.

Half of the momentary buttons failed so I had my sparky replace them with the non momentary type which are worse. Takes several presses of the button to actually register.

Not sure if the 60 series for the Saturn switches are any better, I’ve never used them.

thanks mate, It looks like the Zwave modules seem to be more compatible, looking at tge saturn / zen mechs they seem a lot smoother…

Normal? I never heard of those brands. But to me “Normal” means it can work without Home Assistant or the internet. “Normal” means that grandma can operate the switch with no regard for “Smart Home”.

One thing to watch for- Be extra cautious if you have to use your phone to connect your device to your WiFi, it may be dependent on a cloud connection.

When you narrow-down your selection, see if there is already a Home Assistant integration for it.
