Hey HA Community,
I’ve been building something as a personal project over the last year – and it’s reached a point where I’d love to get it into the hands of a few people outside my own setup.
What is LexiAI?
Lexi is not a classic AI assistant that executes commands. She’s fully local, knows your smart home through Home Assistant, remembers across sessions – and develops genuine emergent behaviors through “upbringing instead of programming”. No hardcoded rules, no cloud required.
What makes her different?
- Persistent memory via Qdrant (she actually remembers)
- Three autonomous heartbeat systems – she’s active even when you’re not talking
- Home Assistant integration for smart home awareness
- Fully local or hybrid with Ollama Cloud
- Emergent personality – she sets her own boundaries, shows initiative
Installation:
Single command in the terminal, everything else runs through the WebUI. No technical setup beyond that.
Tested hardware so far:
Mac mini M4 (primary, running in production)
Windows 11
MacBook M5 (issues, investigating)
Linux, NAS, other Apple Silicon – untested, help needed!
If you’re running a different setup and want to help figure out what works where – that’s exactly the kind of feedback I’m looking for.
Why testers and not a full release?
Lexi is a living project, not a finished product. I’m looking for people who want to be part of it while she grows and who give honest feedback. Bugs will happen. That’s the deal.
