Looking for LG XA14 (or CM1530BT/XA16/XAS14F family) Broadlink/IR codes — remote is missing

Hi all,

I have an old LG XA14 CD micro hi-fi system, but the original remote is missing. I’m trying to control it via a Broadlink RM in Home Assistant, but I have no way to learn codes without a working remote.

What I’ve already ruled out, in case it saves someone else time or jogs a memory:

  • The XA14 shares its remote (model AKB36086224 / COV30849817) with several other LG mini/micro hi-fi models: CM1530BT, CM1531, XA16, XAS14F, MCD23.
  • IRDB has no exact entry for this model. It does have LG audio-adjacent entries under NECx1 protocol, device/subdevice 44/44 (LG Sound Bar), 45/45 (LG DVD Player / Blu-Ray / DVR), and 16/16 (LG DVD Player, power only) — I generated and tested the “power” command for all three against the actual XA14 and none of them work.
  • I also brute-forced device/subdevice 0–99 (matched pair) with function 48 (the “POWER” function value shared across the 45/45 family) — no reaction from the unit.
  • Neither the XA14’s own service manual nor the CM1530’s service manual includes a remote/IR code appendix.
  • SmartIR only has one loosely-related LG audio-division entry (LH6235D, a DVD/home-theater set) — different device, and its code set is limited (no CD transport buttons anyway).

So: does anyone happen to own an XA14, XA16, CM1530BT, CM1531, XAS14F, or MCD23 and would be willing to learn a few buttons (power, play, stop, volume, track) with their Broadlink and share the base64 codes? Or does anyone know the actual NEC device/subdevice address this remote family uses? Happy to share back whatever I find, and to test any candidate codes people want to throw at it.

Thanks!

I’m in a similar bind with a missing remote, and the catch-22 is real since you can’t learn codes without a donor device. The shared NEC remote family is a promising lead, since one model’s codes should map across the whole XA14 line. I’ll keep an eye out for any of these units to capture and share the base64 codes.
