Hi everybody,
can any of you recommend reliable thermostats, ideally controllable via WIFI
? I currently have a bunch of these zigbee thermostats.
Regularly, most of them work, and few don’t. I just bought two new devices of the same model; setting them up was fine, at first they worked - now they already don’t. Also, I am not looking to fix this zigbee2mqtt issue here; I have reported several issues to the github repo, and the maintainer is very helpful - but while other devices work fine, I am done with these thermostats. This is definitely not a coordinator problem, as I a coordinator capable of controlling 100+ devices, set up additional dedicated routers, and some devices (i.e. light bulbs) act as routers as well.
I previously owned these eQ!Max thermostats, but they had different issues.
Are there any devices, that run locally and can be controlled either directly via Home Assistant, or via API (so I could create http post
entities in HASS, or similar, and control them this way if there is no native integration)?
Thermostats have been the only thing that never worked reliable for me from the start. All other integrations usually work fine, and if not, I can get a solution here and make things work. Thermostats usually work, then usually some stop working while others don’t. This is so frustrating. I have spent all morning trying to figure this out, deleting, re-pairing, re-naming, deleting again, etc. etc. those thermostats, but no success…
I am specifically NOT looking for anything controlled via cloud, as this is too unreliable for me as well (in case the company takes their servers down, goes bankrupt, or whatever). What do you use that always works that can be controlled via HASS without so much hassle?
Thank you in advance for your input
