LoraTap RR500W with Tuya WB3S module. OpenBeken flash possible

Hi,

i am new to this community as i am using Home Assistant only a few days, but with success, i think.
First i only use (tuya) esp devices such as Gosund EP2 that flashed successfully with tasmota but
i already have other tuya devices that aren’t equipped with esp chip, such as the “LoraTap RR500W” smart relay module. There are versions with esp chip but the ones that i use are with Tuya WB3S module that are equipped with BK7231T chip. I found some deivces that uses this module and already flashed successfully with OpenBeken but as i figured out there are other templates that aren’t look like the tasmota templates.

Does anyone have already flashed one of this LoraTap RR500W (WB3S) based smart relays and could say anything about?

Here are some pictures of the smart relay and the PCB:

There is also a OB2222MCP IC that seems to be a pwm switch ic:

OB2222MCP

Hope someone can help me to get OpenBeken up.

Flashing isn’t a problem because i own a USB UART TTL and the pinout on Tuya WB3S is also known.

Thanks

There is alo an older version with ESP equipped

LoraTap RR500W Switch Module Configuration for Tasmota (blakadder.com)

Hi, so even with the same pinout in openbk (based on the esp pinout)
None of the button/relay is working yet?

Hi,

the relays is already working with stock tuya software. I didn’t flash it right now.
So you mean, if the template for esp based pinout is workking it should also work with openbk?

StefanV3

Yes, assuming the chip is the only thing they’ve replaced (mostly)
You can still dump the stock firmware to extract the pinout later from the json file

Hi,

I soldered wires to connect the wb3s module to USB ttl uart but i am not able to do anything. Neither read Flash nor Program will work. The bkwriter.exe quits with failed…

Do you have any hint?

Thanks

StefanV3

I only use the python flashing tool, bkwriter never worked for me.

And it might require several attempts (ground cen pin or power cycling when flashing starts)

You could try tuya-cloudcutter for ota flashing

Is it this one?

Hi,

now i got managed to flash OpenBeken to LoraTap RR500W with WB3s module.

I reached the wifi ap of the devicer and tried initial configuration.
But after connecting it to my wifi i am not able to access the config page anymore. Only in safe mode.

Is there a tutorial how to do the inital setup?

Thanks

StefanV3

Odd, you should be able to access the webpage once it’s connected to your wifi.
The device is listed in your router settings right?

Seems, that the device is now accessible via wifi network. Mabe the wifi network was not strong enough. Changed position of the device near the router and all is fine.

And, i figured out that the “DS-101 1 gang switch” is a usable template. Only the leds needs to swap.
Only button does not work. Maybe i can measure, where the button is connected.

Howto save template and releasse it to community?

StefanV3

Try

PWM4 button1
PWM3 button1

You can do a pull request here

Hi,

is it possible to save the template (json) out of the device? Seem to work now wtih external switch too…

Thanks

StefanV3

Not yet, but you can request for that feature

You can use commands to assign from the URL
