Lost ability to add matter devices after moving to proxmox installation?

I’m fairly new to HA but reasonably experienced with networking and home automation devices. I previously had an HAOS install on a pi4 that I was experimenting with and had successfully added the dozen or so Kasa & TPLink matter switches in my house. I recently decided to start in creating custom dashboards and decided to start fresh with a proxmox installation on a 16 GB Mele Quieter3c mini PC that I had laying around.

I carefully followed the scripted installation instructions (Installing Home Assistant OS using Proxmox 8) and everything went perfectly. Here’s the setup:

Proxmox 8.2.4

  • Core 2024.7.3
  • Supervisor 2024.06.2
  • Operating System 12.4
  • Frontend 20240710.0

My WiFi is a Unifi environment with 6 AP’s and a UXG Max router. The router replaced an older USG that was in place when I was running on the raspi but I’m thinking they should be functionally equivalent and the new router was provisioned with the same settings as the previous one.

The matter switches all connect to 2.4 ghz SID’s specific to their nearest AP and I connect my phone to the same SID before attempting to pair the device.

Since the move, I can’t add any of the matter switches. I’m using the add dialog on my iPhone 12 in the same manner I did previously. I’ve tried adding them from Apple Home (where they’re all set up) and also tried resetting them and adding them as new devices with the same result. It goes to “connecting” and just spins until a timeout.

I think I’ve confirmed all of the Matter prerequisites (Matter (BETA) - Home Assistant). The network interface has active v4 and v6 addresses and they’re pingable on the network. I’ve searched every newsgroup I can think of and tried every potential solution I’ve found although I’ve found nothing that matches my specific situation.

I will appreciate any suggestions!
