First of all, thanks to the great work done by the developers and all the members contributing. I am using HomeAssistant now for about 2 years and have come a long way. And it was NOT love at first sight for me. I was struggling especially with the Lovelace interface and I believe this is a major topic still today for many newcomer.
I have seen some conversations in the forums about this subject, but I don’t see any development going in a direction like a Wysiwyg UI. (correct me if I am wrong).
Even in the meantime I am quite comfortable to setup nice and complex Lovelace UI pages on my own, I think there would be a real need for such a WYSIWIG interface. This would help especially newcomers dramatically.
Before you comment I would suggest you have a look at Welcome (iobroker.net). Although Home Assistant is way ahead in regards of integrations and many other things, I believe such a tool like VIS in ioBroker would be absolutely fantastic.
I am still using ioBroker in parallel at my home just for fun and I believe I am able to compare these two applications quite well.
Such a VIS (visualization app) allows the user to create individual UI pages for each user/device with the correct pixel size. The page will allow the user to setup almost endless optional buttons and functions in any size and put them into pixel accurate positions on the page. Just be reminded, to almost do this in Lovelace tremendous work has been done by community members to create stuff like “mushroom” …and still…this is not WYSIWYG yet.
Is there any development planned? Is there interest form the community?
Hoping for lots of replies!
