Hi all anyone know why my chromecast will turn off but not the tv?
Double check to be sure that you have CEC enabled on your TV and your Chromecast device.
Take a look at this article for help with CEC: Using CEC Controls · PRProd/HA-Firemote Wiki · GitHub
Ok thanks I will double check
Hi! Thanks for your reply, I will answer you on Github asap!
hello, I have an Apple TV from Free / Iliad Internet provider in France.
I can’t use your addon
can I need something to do to use it ?
Sure @aureliensas, I’d be happy to help you.
Could you explain to me what you’ve tried so far, and where you are experiencing problems?
Hello,
is there a way to control the volume on the TV instead of the volume on the chromecast when using the chromecast remote? Thank you!
Hi everyone, maybe I’m just missing how to format it in the YAML, but I’m doing a button override. I understand the examples with script: …but what about if it’s a button: entity, eg: button.lnlinkha_4100a380beac000009c778de6230_18 ?
I could pop that into a script to press it, but it seems more logical to support it directly in the card.
Is there a way to relabel the HDMI buttons? For example, if I wanted to change the button to say Apple TV instead of HDMI 1.
Updated overides to substitute a script in case the volume buttons dont respond:
button_overrides:
keyboard-button:
action: script.turn_on
data: {}
target:
entity_id: script.mute_samsung_tv
volume-up-button:
action: script.turn_on
data: {}
target:
entity_id: script.samsung_tv_volume_up
volume-down-button:
action: script.turn_on
data: {}
target:
entity_id: script.samsung_tv_volume_down
sorry for my late reply!
in fact i’ve found my mistake! as my apple tv is on a connected socket, i turn the socket off directly. I’ve noticed that it’s the remote.appletv that doesn’t activate automatically when I switch on the socket!
So I made an automation to solve the problem.
I use the IPTV application - Watch TV Online (IPTV - Watch TV Online dans l’App Store), would you be able to add it to firemote?
Thanks a lot!
Just installed this card to use with my FireTV Stick HD (UK) - which is great BTW!
Got most of it working fine - the only thing that I’m struggling with is the TV Guide button. This doesn’t do anything, however works fine on the physical remote.
Anyone else seeing this?
I am trying to use this to control my Nvidia Shield, but there is significant lag. It’s especially noticeable when navigating my video library in Emby. For example, if I click the down arrow 5 times really fast, navigation continues after I stopped until it catches up.
If I hold the button dow for a couple seconds, it will continue navigating for another 15-20 seconds.
I assume it’s nothing to do with this card, but I wonder if I have things setup wrong. My Harmony remote controls the Shield perfectly.
I have the exact same Toshiba Fire Tv you quote in your post. It has been sitting in the closet as I was really frustrated with it.
Now you have spurred my renewed interest in firing it up.
Thanks for posting this…
Thanks for an awesome card, but also for the responsive and helpful support! I can tell you take pride in what you’ve created and you should, it is exceptional!
I’m late to the party here but I have a Fire Stick that says in About that it’s a 1st Gen 4K 2018, but it won’t respond to the 1st Gen 4K 2018 remote, only the 2023 4K 2nd Gen settings. Unfortunately, that also means it suffers from significant lag (2-3 seconds after each button press). I know this is a known issue but I wondered if there are any new developments, like better Android Remote support that would justify my installing that? I have CEC working with my Sony A80J and it works fine, but there are a few keys specific to the Fire remote that my Sony remote can’t support (like the hamburger menu), which is why I’d prefer to use Firemote for everything.
Thanks again for an exceptional product and excellent support!
is there a way to have a transparent background?
Anyone got SkyQ remote setup?
Is it possible to have the left right up down buttons hold? Specifically for fire tv while using the Internet silk browser and controlling the mouse on the browser. If i use the regular fire tv remote app it works fine.
