Lovelace thermostat card with range

Hi,

I’m using the thermostat card with broadlink climate component and it’s working very well.

I’m trying to have a temperature range, instead of a fixed one like shown in https://www.awesome-ha.com/#lovelace-ui

If I double the config lines however I just got two thermostat cards, and not a range.
Anyone knows how to do this range thing?

thanks,
Tiago

I’m not sure but I think it only shows the range when it has something to do, so if heating it will show what the current temp is and the temp it’s trying to reach, I don’t believe you can set a range.

Strange. The example on a-ha shows a working temperature range. Maybe it has something to do with the climate component itself, but I cannot find any information on that.
For me it’s logical to have a range to avoid a few start/stops as the temperature with AC can change quite fast.

Have to wait until some more info gets released regarding this ‘feature’.

I am not 100% sure, but for mine personal case it was due to climate platform being generic_thermostat rather then ecobee for example.

I believe that it’s not achievable using generic_thermostat

As a “workaround” I not used generic thermostat with these properties:
cold_tolerance: 1.5
hot_tolerance: 1.5
Explanation from HA docs:

For example, if the target temperature is 25 and the tolerance is 0.5 the heater will stop when the sensor equals or goes above 25.5.

So from my example as far as I understand setting thermostat to 25 would be same as setting it with range 23.5-26.5
