Recently I started to face some issues with automations that rely on tracking of my position. Good example is automation that supposed to open the garage when I approach home. Thanks to new automation debugging I was able to pinpoint the issue to frequency of updates of my iPhone position to be very low. It seems automation is triggered 2~3 minutes after I arrive at home, instead of at the moment I cross the border of near_home zone. Result is that conditions to trigger are not met (the car is already in garage) so nothing happens.
I’m not sure at what moment of time it started, but I noticed this randomly not to work few weeks ago. Unfortunately due to pandemic I do not commute daily, so it was not easy to determine what is going wrong and of this is not temporary glitch with z-wave network that controls garage door.
I use 2 sensors to determine my position, both linked to my iPhone - life360 integration and phone tracking from companion app. Just looking at map with visualisation of position history of these device trackers it looks that frequency of updates of position to HA is very low, once every few minutes. It seems strange, as previously I had no issues like that and this automation was working flawlessly. In current for it is useless fo this type of automation
Anyone experiencing similar issues? Any solution? Any settings I should look at (perhaps while migrating to new phone few month ago I overlooked something and now I’m not able to get to proper config)?
I’m facing the same issues
Sometimes that frequency is high and some time it’s low.
I haven’t changed anything so i don’t get it.
