Lumary RGB Lights - Wifi/Bluetooth - Edit solved with Local Tuya

Hey folks, I am at my whits end here. I have these lights:

I have configured them with Tuya, they show up as 5 devices, but 10 entities. (Picture 1) and picture two, you can see I tried to add them to groups (Picture 2)

I want to be able to as a group, control the main lights (labled kitchen lights) and as a group control the night lights.

I can do this in google home, by putting them in an area, but I can’t change the area in home assistant.

I would like to eventually accomplish being able to have a button on my dashboard to control them - but in their current state I cannot.

So, the main light shows as
light.lumary_6_smart_rgbai_ultra_thin_downlight_e1

whereas the “night light” shows as:

switch.lumary_6_smart_rgbai_ultra_thin_downlight_e1_2

I can’t find a way to change it to a light, instead of a switch. GUI or yaml.

I have tried changing them through Change device type of a switch - Home Assistant - with no luck

Hey there, Casy,

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same lights, and I have successfully added them with local tuya, But they’re only showing two attributes (on/off and “do not disturb” whatever that is). I’d like to add all the good stuff so I can control the led ring and the downlight!

Yeah - let me dive into what I have.

I will preface my response with this - local tuya is not my long term solution, I am in the process of flashing these in the coming days - to basically remove the tuya integration entirely. Give me a bit to compile what I have to make it work for you in local tuya

Okay - sorry for the delay. I am having a hard time remembering exactly what I did, but essentially there are two entities exposed (the downlight, and the ring light)

I will include both the UI and text based options for you to make it easier on you.

Note that when you configure it, you can add/edit an entity on the device: this is one light and these are the entities:

The entities will need the following:

White - Downlight:

* DP: 63
* brightness value: 22
* Color temp: 23
* Color Mode: 21
* color: 24
* Scene: 25

Color entity - “ring”:

* DP: 54
* Color Mode: 55
* Color: 24
* Scene: 55

I hope this helps you - like I said I am going to be flashing esphome onto these as my last stand because as it is currently, these lights are horrible (for me) with local tuya as they disconnect and become unresponsive too often. Appreciate your help, I have the ring light and downlight entities now, I’m in the process of dumbing down my smart switches that control the lights to avoid switch confusion (adding a shelly relay to always have power to the lights, even when the wall switch is off). Came across this thread trying to get these lights dialed in. I have some slight modifications to suggest to your config. Instead of using the DP ID of 55 for scene for the ring, use 56. For whatever reason, the scene/effect values didn’t populate automatically for these bulbs but did for some other Tuya bulbs. So I went ahead and documented all the scene codes from the mobile app by grabbing the values from the Tuya IOT API each time I changed the scene. In the optional scene values when configuring the device, use these to map the scenes below. See screenshot for where to paste them.

Thanks for the details. How were you able to get 2 entities? I am using Local tuya and only able to get 1 entity configured with ID 20. Things work fine but controlling the ring and the light together is messy.
