Lutron Caseta Smart Bridge vs Smart Bridge Pro in 2022

I’ve seen a lot of older posts about this where people said the Pro is necessary, but I want to check before I go off and buy a basic kit to figure out if I should buy the normal or pro bridge these days. I saw this pull request was merged as well which leads me to see the Pro not being necessary, Add pico remote support to non-pro lutron caseta bridges by bdraco · Pull Request #61032 · home-assistant/core · GitHub

Any help would be great!

Any update of this? I would like to know if I need the Pro hub to setup a Caseta system with HA that will operate locally… THANKS!

My understanding is the Pro hub is no longer necessary to operate the Picos but you do not get Telnet support. It increases reliability but doesn’t seem necessary any more

Will the smart bridge let me see button presses from the hard wired caseta dimmer? It’s a bummer that I can only catch events from the pico. Unless I’m doing something wrong?

Is the Smart Bridge Pro still required for the 4 button scene control pico switch?
