I’d like to share my M5Stack Dial Home Assistant Controller, built with ESPHome.
The project is based on Jason Fang’s Smart Home Button, which I forked and adapted for a different use case. While the original project focused mainly on controlling an LED strip, this version is designed to control Home Assistant entities such as lights, climate devices, media players, timers and other smart home functions.
My goal was to make it easier for Home Assistant users to start using the M5Stack Dial without having to build the interface and ESPHome configuration from scratch.
The project includes the ESPHome configuration, installation instructions, configuration examples and documentation for the available features.
I’d also like to thank Jason Fang for publishing the original project as open source. This adaptation would not have been possible without his work.
