Mac book Pro running Catalina: Homebrew or Docker? I need the Supervisor function

Hello. As stated above I have and early 2013 MacBook Pro and I have cleaned it back to factory level with the latest Software updates now running Catalina 10.15.7. Running Python 3.8.10, downloaded Xcode 10.2 and now would like to know what else I need to do to get HASS and the ability to see supervisor. It appears I missing something. Have it working on the Raspberry Pi4 but would like to salvage my old Mac.

So which way is best: Homebrew, Docker, something else?

Thank you in advance for any guidance.
Peace!

SD.

Supervisor needs either HA OS or Debian. I don’t know if you can run virtual machines on MacOs?

Thanks. I had it working 3 weeks ago, but then I have had this Mac since 2013 so no telling what all has been loaded over the years. I just thought putting a fresh install was going to be clean and allow be to get rid of all the clutter. Got rid of the clutter and now got HA running just don’t know what I had on this Mac for it to work the first time before I wipe it.

I’m using a 2012 Mac mini and run a virtual machine using Virtual Box.

I used these instructions
