Verify the VMDK Is Fully Extracted
a) Use “Custom” Creation
- Open VMware Fusion 13.
- Go to File > New > Create a custom virtual machine.
- Under Operating System, select “Other” → “Other 64-bit ARM” (if available). If there’s no 64-bit ARM option, choose “Other 64-bit” but be aware that Apple Silicon is ARM, so you may need to tweak further settings.
b) Add an Existing Virtual Disk
When the wizard asks for a disk:
- Choose: Use an existing virtual disk.
- Select the
.vmdkfile you just extracted. - If Fusion asks to convert the disk, allow it (this can fix compatibility issues).
c) Enable EFI Boot
- In Virtual Machine > Settings > Advanced, ensure the firmware type is EFI.
- If “No compatible bootloader found” persists, double-check that EFI is indeed enabled.
Mac with NVME might be difficult
I still say someone tries a hackintosh setup instead trying to run it on osx
*Disclaimer: i don’t own a mac and wont be testing this. Apple silicone is different depending on the year. Ive used almost every osx released until 2023. If i had to have a mac id use an older bootcamp version(personal preference idk if it would reliably run ha). I imagine any Sequoia device is a real pain to do this with.
