Magic Mirror like display but with Lovelace UI

Hi guys,

I have a hardware magic mirror like device, but more like a picture frame. No mirror. A glas and a monitor. I use it to show fotos of mine in the house. Plus an overlay of some important information.

In the past I used magic mirror. But I would like to use lovelace on the magic frame. I dont like to learn/maintain another set of plugins/JSON code/whatnot.

Any chance to have in lovelace

• a background picture
• some cards, but not placed “floatingly from top to bottom”, but carefully placed (left/right/middle/buttom/top). How can the positioning of cards be influenced in that way that most of the midde of the picture stays free.

This is possible, you have to configure it in the theme.

This is possible as well, by using a picture elements card. You can then define the coordinates to place your cards wherever you want them. Kudos to @Mattias_Persson for “discovering” this way of using lovelace. See more in this topic.
