Magnetic Door Release - What Device Should I Use

I am looking for a device that will hold a door open but I can release via Home Assistant. It would function like what I have in the attached picture but can release remotely. Strongly prefer it to be battery powered as running wiring would be a huge pain. Also would like it to be a single device rather than something like an electromagnetic controlled with a Shelly controller because that would be rather unsightly and this is in a highly visible area in my house.

I feel like there has got to be devices out there that function like this I just don’t know what they’re called.

Well I don’t have any ideas, specifically. However I am also looking for something like this.

We have a Butler’s pantry with two doors that open inward. I want to be able to push both open and have them catch the magnet and then have them automatically close when the pantry has no detected motion after 2-3 mins.

keeping an eye on this, if anyone has some suggestions!

Don’t think you’re going to find anything that does this, as magnetic door locks use electromagnets (so they require constant power to act as a magnet). While they don’t require huge amounts of power, for a battery it would be quite a bit and would require frequent recharging.

I think your best-bet if you don’t want to DIY would be an actual actuator/controller for the door, but I’ve only ever seen commercial offerings (read: expensive) that also aren’t battery powered.
