Make an old electric radiator a smart one?

Hi.

I have an old electric radiator, that has worked well for many years, and I look for a way to “smart” it out. It’s a 2KW work horse, and I do not wish to rely on tapo p110/other appliances that “may” support load up to 16A. Since the radiator will be working out with no human on-site, I’m looking for a reliable and secure solution that will last for good. At this point, I’m still to find any smart plug that support something over 16A, and I’m out of options.

I’m simply looking for a with a schedule powering on/off - nothing fancy, that’s all.

Thanks.

You could put a Shelly Plus 1 inside the heater. As long as there is somewhere for the wifi to get through (not all metal). Otherwise put it in a junction box.

They are reliable and integrate well with home assistant.
