Make HA discover devices on another network via Tailscale?

Hey guys, I have a HA OS installation running on Proxmox that I want to connect to my tailscale network for it to discover devices on another location via a subnet router that I have setup on the tailnet. (I am NOT trying to connect to HA remotely via Tailscale) I understand this is probably not the best solution, however it would be very convenient for me if it works.

The Tailscale integration does something else and the Tailscale add-on doesn’t use the “real” interface (or so I think), so I don’t really know how to do this.

I tried downloading the Tailscale app by getting to the HAOS terminal using login, but the install script said that it couldn’t detect my version of Linux. Would I be able install Tailscale there, or is it a bad idea?
Thanks in advance!

Even if you do get it connected I’m pretty sure it’s not going to autodiscover a separate subnet across a router.

Manually connect to, sure. But ZeroConf and autodiscover? Doubtful…

I would guess zero config and auto discovery would use multicast. So if you can find a multicast proxy to push the multicast packets across your subnets, you’d probably have a chance to get it to work. I utilize opnsense on my network and do something similar to allow my printer to be discovered across subnets.
