Recently my internet provider was down and my local LAN still running. I could not log in to HA with the app. Only then and after quite a bit of search did I become aware of the minimal flavour. I have deliberately disabled all cloud functions and want to keep my HA strictly local. As a bonus the app access has now become much faster.
Could you please make the minimal version much more visible and state clearly that the full app connects and talks to outside cloud servers? It took me quite by surprise and was totally unexpected.
logging in locally has nothing to do with using hte full ad minimal app, you are experiencing a placebo effect. Both apps use and consume URLs in teh same fashion.
the only actual cloud features are location tracking and firebase, you can read more about the differences here: https://companion.home-assistant.io/docs/core/android-flavors
again a placebo effect
its already mentioned in sevearl places like F-droid and the docs above.
