I currently have a gas water heater that uses a Resideo WT8840B100 gas control valve. I’ve been trying to find a way that I may be able to tap into the thermal sensor that is part of this valve, but have had no luck. Essentially what I want to do is capture the water temperature from this valve so I can display it on my dashboard. I’ve seen many suggestion about monitoring the tank with temp sensors on the tank behind the insulation. Unfortunately I have a much older water heater and it does not provide a way to get to the internal tank. I’m hoping someone has an idea on how this may be accomplished or has already done something similar.
