When I go into automation via the user interface (not via YAMEL editing). I can find where I say I want a trigger to happen every day at 7AM. But I don’t see how I say Monday - Friday or pick what days of the week while I am setting the time of day. No doubt this is easy and I am just missing it.

Hi Joe, AFAIK there is no such option by default in HA.
Ideas:
Use the Workday Integration to setup Mon-Fri.
Use that as a state condition or trigger

Feels like this is a big gap in core functionality
Or as ever there are plenty of ways to do. You can specify weekdays or whatever day you want as a condition.
There’s no option, YAML or other, for a weekday trigger.
There is a weekday option for the time condition, which can be done in the GUI.
Use the condition for the time and leave the times blank and just add the days of the week you want it. I use it all the time.
set up a time each day then go to conditions (and if) select time again but this time it will ask when …you will see a menu to select the days
