Manjaro Linux Home Assistant app?

Hi,
Just ordered a Yellow with all the bells and whistles available from Ameridroid.
I was browsing apps on my Manjaro Linux box and saw the Home Assistant package was available on the repositories.
I built and installed it and it “seems” to be correctly configured for interfacing via the network to the Yellow…

Since the yellow hasn’t arrived yet I am curious if this app is going to be able to be used locally to monitor and create automations on the yellow…

The web browser has the correct local address and port configured without any changes to it required… am I being deceived as to its ability to do the job as it didn’t require any docker or VM set up or installation?

Anyone ever use this package on the Manjaro distro??

Thanks in advance for any insight…

Rich

It’s likely the package you installed is a “Core” (pure python) installation of HA.
Unless it’s what you want, it means that you won’t be able to run HA addons. Not a big deal if you are proficient in Linux, as those are basically wrapped docker containers that you could install yourself.

Note that the “Core” installation is deprecated by HA, though, so who long it will be supported by your distro is anyone guess.

Note also that beyond an onboard zigbee coordinator and M2 slot, there are not many whistles to the Yellow
