Manual HomeKit device pairing/setup (no discovery)?

Is there a way to manually tell HA about a HomeKit compatible device to set it up? A recent migration I’ve done makes automatic discovery not work (and I am not willing to change things so it does), so that is not an option, but it appears that’s only required for the initial setup and not ongoing functionality.

For example, in my previous setup that allowed discovery, I had connected a thermostat as a HomeKit device, and it still works without any issues after the migration. So it seems to me the only hurdle is getting HA and the other device talking and paired initially.

I’m also very interested in this. What yaml file can I manually update to get HA to detect Aqara FP2 sensor?

It can’t be done. For some reason the bozos who designed HomeKit’s communication protocols made it fully reliant on multicast DNS, and even if you lock down the IP of the device through your router, it’s not enough to keep HA able to talk to it indefinitely.

Just give up, like I did.
