Map no longer showing device_tracker entities

I’ve been using HA for a while and recently noticed that people are no longer shown on the Map view where they used to appear fine.
It appears specific to the map view rather than a device config.

The map page has both the device_tracker.$DEVICE and person.$NAME entities defined.

seems like if one map works, then so should the other and i’ve not noticed anything in the changelogs.
Zones seem to function correctly (home/nearby/away state)

what could be the issue and whats next to check?

Is the user at home ? Users at home are not shown on the map …

no, this person is 150miles away (i forgot to mention that!)… also confirmed with the ‘away’ status in the 2nd screenshot too :slight_smile:

Are there other entities assigned to person.name? Specifically an entity that does not use gps for home/away like a network tracker? Map only supports entities that provide a gps location.

I’m guessing that you are hard coding this rather than use the ui? If I add a map card and try to add my person through the UI I cant. If I remove the network trackers, my person entity shows in the drop down list.

i’ve only got 1 device assigned per person. All devices seem to have this issue and not specific to a device/person.

i set the map up a long time ago so not sure what method i used to configure it. This is the yaml (specifically map > edit > raw configuration editor)

I’ve added a map card where both person.$NAME and device_tracker.$DEVICE show the correct location as expected.

I poked about a bit more and turns out that recreating the Maps dashboard has got it working as it should.

Simply create a new one via Settings > Dashboards > Add Dashboard > Map.

I seem to have a lot of iPad items showing up on the map and my old mobile, but my new one is not showing up any reason why this is?

I have nothing on the Map now showing up after I removed the Map and added a new May, which seems to make it worse.

I also removed my mobile and then re-installed it, but still not showing up on the Map and Detection for me coming home is also not working to turn Lights on.

Any help fix this would be great. It did used to all work, but last 6 months its vanished!

For me it’s really patchy. The map card on dashboard kind of works, but the map dashboard is not showing any. When I say kind of, the newly logged in user and it’s tracker device cannot be added to the list of tracking devices, despite the fact the the tracker entity exists. I’ve tried removing and adding and it doesn’t work. I’ve tried creating a new map dashboard but that didn’t help neither
