I have mariadb installed on windows with the gui heidi etc.
I easily migrated to homeassistant databases to a large hdd on my main pc.
But I tried to set up a smaller USB ssd directly to my debian mini pc.
Spent hours and hours trying to mount/reconfigure cnf folders/socket paths etc etc. omg what a pain. Still could not get it to work, ended up in a mess with it not working then reinstalling all the mariadb programs etc again 2 times.
Is it really that difficult? Followed some good guides and still had issues.
reverted back to the other databases.
Maybe it was the recorder URL at first?
If you have a /mnt/data on a sda3 mounted disk what would be the recorder URL?
Tried so many variations with 127.0.0.1 followed by the socket path and other variations.
