I have the HASS integration Matter (beta) and been adding devices such as light bulbs.
I’m noticing all the Matter devices are automatically connecting to my 5GHz Wi-Fi mesh network SSID instead of my dedicated IOT 2.4GHz Wi-Fi SSID, which is a separate access point.
Both WIFI access-points are currently on the same subnet as HASS.
How can I force and/or move all Matter devices to use a specific Wi-Fi AP SSID?
If you are using the HA Companion App to commission a device, at least in the case of iOS, the App will use the WiFi SSID/password that the mobile device is connected to at the time of commissioning and give it to the device being commissioned as the WiFI credentials that the commissioning device is to use for connecting to the WiFi network. I’m not positive, but probably the only way to change a Matter/WiFi device to use a different WiFi network is to remove it from Matter and then factory reset it, and then re-commission it.
I’m trying to install 8 of OREiN Matter Smart Light Bulbs (Smart RGBTW Bulb (1002)
by Leedarson) Matter devices, so far 5 out of the 8 installed fine. But the remaining 3 are failing after code scan…
I guess I’m going to have to switch my phone over to my IOT 2.4GHz SSID and reprovision all the light bulbs at some point. Next step is to figure out how to reset these three remaining bulbs.
It hangs on this screen and no matter how long I wait, hitting okay it goes back to the matter device list and does not show the new bulb.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I was able to add one more bulb with my phone on my dedicated 2.4 GHz iot SSID.
However when moving to the next new bulb and after scanning the QR code it says it’s added successfully but then hangs here and never shows as a device under the Matter integration.
I tried restarting Hass and factory resetting the bulb two times and still no luck.
It doesn’t appear to be grabbing an IP either like the other six bulbs.
