A developer from Eve recently mentioned in this reddit comment that the Eve Thermo Control device uses standard Matter bindings to control the Eve Thermo TRVs based on the external room temperature sensor:
“It’s a Matter feature. If Home Assistant supports these, you would just need to know which clusters to bind against and which access control entries to write out. If the Home Assistant team would want to add this, I could provide this information. :)”
Is there anyone here with the expertise who could find out how to use Matter bindings to connect a TRV with a room temperature sensor? This could be a huge improvement—not just for these devices, but for many others. With all the data available in a smart home, it’s inefficient for a TRV to rely only on its built-in sensor, which likely doesn’t reflect the actual room temperature.
