Matter devices during hurricanes in Florida

I live in SW Florida and just recovering from two awful hurricanes in just two weeks. And lots of power outages, mostly intermittent (off a few seconds or minutes then back on).
I’ve always used used either Wyze Bulbs (not flashed) or my favorite Sonoff S31 plugs Flashed with Tasmota. Both these devices have worked flawlessly to my setting them to default to Off when power goes off then restored. To clarify I want all lights to default to Off.

That said I purchased 8ea Linkind Smart Bulbs in an attempt to try newer technology as all the Wyze Bulbs started failing after about 4 yrs.

So I’m puzzled as to how to set these new Matter bulbs to also default to off when power is lost and then restored.
And it’s totally crazy these last two weeks with them constantly coming on when power just flickers for a moment. This can happen dozens of times daily …Any ideas . Thanks in advance.

PS. It should be noted that when power is lost many times Comcast Internet is lost even longer. So when power comes back on the lights must start off even if no Internet is available.

In the device configuration section you should be able to change the “Power-on behavior on startup” and other attributes. That of course will only work if the vendor implemented the feature correctly.

Another option might be using the official AiDot app. I don’t have Linkind bulbs but the apps from WiZ, Nanoleaf and Tapo can define the behaviour there as well as update the firmware which sometimes cannot be updated through Matter.

Thanks. I found the settings for default OFF in the Matter application in Home Assistant.
However in testing, I unplugged all 3 lamps in the living room that were turned off by HA. But they returned to ON state instead of staying off.
Ughh…
Any ideas. Thank you in advance.
