Thank you, that worked!
The add-on is amazing, easy to configure and improves so much the google home control of devices.
There’s a bit that I might have missed, but it seems that it does not “export” Home Assistant zones to Google Home rooms, and this might be by design, also because the two concepts are actually not the same and not linked to each other.
So I guess I should one by one take the devices in Google Home and assign each one to its own room. The thing is, it seems they cannot be assigned a room in Google Home… when opening the settings screen for a device, there is a “Home” setting that is grayed out, and no “Room” setting.
Am I missing something? I see other users have highlighted this point but no solution was proposed so far…

oh god… still not fully awake… sorry and thanks for pointing out
Exact problem here! Have you managed fixing it? Thank you!
No, I use the Matter hub exclusively with Google while awaiting a fix for Alexa. I did not try rolling back to a previous version.

I can’t add the matter hub from Home Assistant to Aqara M3.Does anyone have any experience with this? Thank you
FWIW, I was able to get 3 HA input_boolean’s discovered and added to Alexa by creating a separate bridge for each of them, using ports 5540, 5541, and 5542. Even then I had to nuke and re-create the bridge several times before the “There was a problem” message went away. After setting up, the states don’t sync very well – HA->Alexa direction seldom syncs and while Alexa->HA direction mostly syncs, the state on Alexa side sometimes does not reflect the true state. In any case, it’s a great integration - thank you @t0bst4r !
HAMH version (docker): 3.0.0-alpha.87
HA version (docker): 2025.8.0
Alexa app: 2025.16 (Android)
I looks like it’s been a while since anyone has posted here. I installed this when it first came out and couldn’t get it to work with Alexa. Is it working better now? I need to find a new solution, as what I am using now will be disconnected on November 1: https://alexa-node-red.bm.hardill.me.uk/
Update: After a half day working on it, I moved everything over successfully. As already noted, the devices randomly appear and disappear in Alexa app, but I have everything set up regardless and it doesn’t appear to impact voice control performance.
Version 76 was the last version that worked with Alexa.
Is it safe to move to the latest version yet?
I’m on 87 and it works fine. And if you’re on docker, you can easily switch between versions if it stops working.
I’m a complete HA newbie and managed to get this to work! it was the easiest option to integrate google home out of everything I looked at online. all my devices were showing offline at first (maybe because they were somehow added under the matter integration) but I ended up re-adding everything and it worked.
I don’t have a option to control my zemismart zigbee blinds via automations (nothing comes up as an action) but a workaround was creating an automation in HA and exposing it to the add on, then controlling the automation via google home automations.
also, it doesn’t seem like you can control IKEA plugs via google home that have been paired with a remote. every time I pair a remote, it sends my plug offline and I have to re-add it again. might have to look into an NFC unless someone else knows a way around…
I’m using this with both Apple Home and Alexa. They both work pretty well. I was tinkering with some things on the Alexa side and completely messed it up. Now, I have double devices being listed when I go to make custom routines, which requires me to check both devices to make sure the automation works (it works fine, though.) Is there any way to purge the old devices from Alexa? I know she doesn’t properly display the actual devices (they come and go,) but it would be nice to clean things up on the routine side. Thanks
I don’t know if this is an issue with the matter hub and alexa, or how the devices are showing in HA or what, but I have a Clipsal Wiser/Scheneider Electric Wiser fan switches which have 3 speed settings - low, medium, high which now shows in Alexa when added via the hub as mode Low Medium High or speed 1, 2, 3, but I cant use the command to set it to any of those. When I say “Alexa, set fan to mode low” or “set fan to speed 1” it says it cannot set fan to that setting. Anyone experience this before?
You might want to wait until PR 4341 is merged and released and then try again.
I’m currently using Zigbee2MQTT which already supports the Schneider stuff to expose to HA, I dont use ZHA Device Handler
where do you paste this yaml? I’m guessing its not configuration, because it looks like part is missing?
sorry, I’m new!
edit: do I paste it inside the configuration of the add on?
Just set it up using the GUI of the add on:
I used the label ‘matter_hub’ but you can use whatever you like.
What is posted above is the underlying json which you can view from the GUI.
dohh… thank you! still getting used to the terms. I had made a list of about 30 words I wanted to include and exclude which was getting complicated, so I created a label but couldn’t work out how to implement it. thanks ![]()
