Matter integration into Home Assistant? (three different integrations?)

I’m looking at using Matter with Home Assistant (to use with Alexa/Google/Apple) and I’m a bit confused.

First I search for “matterbridge” and the first result appears to be a chat bridge so this appears to be an unrelated project.

Further research found another project called “matterbridge” by Luligu described as a “Matterbridge plugin manager for Matter” further described as a “matter.js plugin manager”

Yet another integration recently renamed to “home-assistant-matter-hub” (formerly called “matterbridge-home-assistant”) by t0bst4r.

Finally, there is something built-in (?) called “Matter (BETA)”.

Can somebody explain the difference (or relationship) between these? My goal is to allow Alexa/Google/Apple to control my Home Assistant devices using voice control.

No idea what your first link refers to.

The second one is a project that seems unrelated to HA, but does the same as the Matter Server addon in HA.

The third one is probably the one you want.
It will take your devices in HA and “make” them Matter devices that are publish in your Matter environment.

The last one is an integration that connects to your Matter environment and pulls the devices from there into HA.

So the one you need is the third one, but you probably also want the fourth one for HA to control Matter devices.
