I’m trying to pair a ttlock g6 matter over wifi device.
The device goes into pairing mode immediately, once I connect power to it.
I’m using the official matter addon, and the companion app, and it finds the device instantly, and appears on my phones list of nearby bluetooth devices.
However, I can’t get past ‘connecting to device’ before it then drops out of pairing mode, which is 20 seconds later.
I’ve previously successfully paired sonoff mini-d matter over wifi devices with HA, but they took considerably longer than 20 seconds to pair. (Maybe up to 1 minute).
I also tried doing it via the ttlock app, but when you pair the g6, it asks for a matter hub, and I choose HA, and the same thing happens (times out)
Is there a way to speed up the process or an alternative way of doing it ?
For those who find this thread, the answer was to pair the g6 with the ttlock app first. Hitting the + button then selecting the g6 allowed me to add my wifi credentials to the device and get it on the network.
If you then power off the device, everytime its powered on, you get about a minute to re-pair it before it re-joins the network, and this is enough to then pair it with HA.
TDLR:- Dont bother, the matter support for the g6 is poor and flakey. See this thread for more details, starting about here:-
