Measure attic temperature in Texas

Out of curiosity, I would like to monitor the temperature in my attic.
Most zigbee temperature devices seem rated up to 115 degrees F
And I figure the temperature is 130 or more during the day. Has anyone
Ventured down this trail?

Not zigbee, but I like the Ambient Weather WH31E. It goes up to 140 degrees F but does require a weather station to receive the data.

I went down the zigbee route, but ended up with bluetooth low energy devices through out the houses, for better performance/cost equation, so maybe not for you, however. I’ve got one of these (link below) monitoring a stove hood for a CYA if someone left a burner on, I’ve seen it up to 120’s. The Amazon link below claims up to 140 F. I use cheap Xiaomi LYWSD03MMC ATC converted USD 3 in my attic, running nonstop 2+ years. But I live at the beach  Good hunting!

Not Zigbee, but you could use a Dallas Temperature Sensor in the attic, with a wire down to an ESPHome device in the living space. I have some of these monitoring my boiler, so I know they’re good for the kind of temps you’re expecting to find.

Thanks for the info, I’ll give this Bluetooth sensor a try!

@huehlene I thought of this after the fact, not sure what if any attic fan you currently have, however these (at least this one) has a hackable esp32 controller that give you temperature, humidity and fan control via wifi and or bluetooth(if you get fancy with your code).
