Media Folder

Hey Guys,

Im new to Home Assisstant so bare with me please. Last night I got everything up and running and was able to press the button on my Doorbell and have Home Assistant run an automation that plays a voice and noise on one of my Sonos speakers. Today it has stopped working.

From what I can understand the automation cant play the sound from within the media folder. I can see and play the file from within the media browser but it doesn’t work in the automation.

Uploading and using the media isn’t very straight forward if I’m honest but I am hoping someone can give me some pointers here as I have tried everything I know of.

The automation source is

http://homeassistant.local:8123/media/doorbellchime.mp3

When I type this into my browser I get 404 not found, last night it brought me to the file and played it

Enable the “http:” integration, then move the files to the ‘www’ folder (which you’ll need to create). See this for more info.

This will then allow access via a slightly different URL (http://homeassistant.local:8123/local/doorbellchime.mp3), which will be visible to the media player.
